Happy 35th Birthday to Devonalds!

So, today April 1st marks the 35th Birthday of Devonalds Solicitors - April fools day!

Devonalds was founded in 1982 by the late Mr D Lyn Devonald, with the first office being opened in Porth on the 1st April.  Our recently retired Partner, Phil Robinson, joined a few months later in July, and also recently retired Partner Wayne Griffiths joined the firm in 1983. 

By 1988 both Phil and Wayne had joined Lyn Devonald as partners, and the firm expanded with a new office in Dunraven Street Tonypandy, our oldest remaining location.

In 1992 our current co-managing partner and head of our personal injury department Steve Evans became a partner and in 1996 we opened what is now our head office in Pontypridd, at the historic York House on Courthouse Street.

Glenn Evans, head of our Conveyancing Department, joined the partnership in 1999, and our head of Wills & Probate, Ceri Davies became a partner in 2003. 

The firm acquired an office on the Talbot Green High Street in 2000, and in 2006 we opened our Tylorstown branch at the Old Library, East Road, where our Personal Injury department was and remains based. Also in 2006 our Gerald Evans became a partner.

In 2013 the partnership grew further with the addition of Sara Edwards and Alex Kilby, and finally in 2016 Matthew Body became a partner, bringing the total number of partners in the firm to nine.

In 2016 we refreshed the firm’s image with a brand new logo and website. At the same time, we opened up our fifth and flagship office after acquiring an historic listed building at 10 Dunraven Place Bridgend, our first office outside the Rhondda Cynon Taf area.

Devonalds are also pleased to announce that in May 2017, we will be opening a new branch in Treorchy at The Old Surgery, Horeb Street, just off the Stag Square.
